Social entrepreneurship combines the passion for social change with the business acumen to create sustainable solutions to the most pressing social problems of our time. The social enterprise sector is growing rapidly, with more young people choosing to pursue this path as a viable career option.

In a recent address to the nation on India@75, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed the need for India to become a developed nation by the centenary of Independence. He urged citizens to work towants achieving five pledges, or 'Paanch Pran' to fulfil the dreams of the country's freedom fighters by 2047. These pledges include achieving a developed India, eliminating any signs of subservience, promoting pride in India's cultural heritage, fostering unity, and fulfilling our duties.

Social entrepreneurship involves the creation, financing, and expansion of enterprises that aim to achieve a social or environmental purpose. Typically, these ventures are initiated by individuals who are driven by a desire to address a specific social or environmental challenge, such as poverty, inequality. climate change, women empowerment, support artisan communities, etc. Unlike traditional non-profit organisations, social enterprises operate as businesses, generating revenue through the sale of products or services, which is then reinvested to advance their social mission. Overall, it provides a unique approach to address the socintal challenges by combining commercial practices with social goals and development at heart.
